Job Description

Hiring a Java Developer with strong Kotlin experience to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices for an enterprise client. The role involves building RESTful APIs on the JVM platform using Java and Spring Boot, with a focus on clean, maintainable, high-performance code in an Agile team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Build and support microservices-based applications
  • Write Kotlin and Java code on the JVM platform following OOP best practices
  • Work with PL/SQL and relational databases for data-driven features
  • Write and maintain unit tests using JUnit
  • Use Git and Maven for source control and build management
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend applications for performance and scalability
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve engineering productivity

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development
  • Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot for scalable enterprise applications
  • Hands-on experience with Kotlin or other functional JVM languages
  • Strong knowledge of Data Structures, Algorithms, and CS fundamentals
  • Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Working knowledge of PL/SQL and relational databases
  • Strong understanding of OOP principles and software design best practices
  • Experience with Git, Maven, JUnit, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Willingness to leverage AI-assisted development tools
