The accountant is responsible for performing general accounting functions including accounts receivables, general ledger journal functions, budget functions, account reconciliations, and processing of financial reports. Assists Contracts Department, with budget analysis of contracted provider agencies and reviews quarterly actual expenditures versus budget; and performs fiscal monitoring of providers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Maintains accounts receivable aging and associated billings - Prepares and processes daily and monthly journal entries - Performs monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations - Prepares daily deposits to various bank accounts - Performs month-end closing duties - Assists with budget preparation and forecasting - Assists with financial analysis - Other duties as assigned This list of functions is not intended to be exhaustive. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in accounting and three years of accounting experience; or a combination of specialized training and experience.
