Job Description
As an Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead advanced software development projects, enhance and maintain critical software components, and troubleshoot complex issues. We are looking for an experienced Android Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Android application development and strong knowledge of Kotlin and C programming. The ideal candidate should have expertise in developing, debugging, and optimizing Android applications, with exposure to native code integration using Android NDK/JNI. The role involves designing robust mobile applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring high performance and reliability across Android platforms.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform.
- Integrate native C/C++ libraries with Android applications using the Java Native Interface (JNI).
- Optimize performance, memory management, and battery consumption for low-level system modules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Maintain code quality, organization, and automated unit testing.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and fix application bottlenecks across diverse hardware form factors.
- Design and develop native Android applications using Kotlin and Java with modern architectural patterns like MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture for maintainable, scalable codebases

Technical Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Android application development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
- Good programming experience in C.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Android SDK
- Android Studio
- Jetpack Components
- MVVM Architecture
- Coroutines
- REST APIs
- Git Version Control
- Experience with Android NDK and JNI integration.
- Knowledge of multithreading and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with debugging tools such as ADB, Logcat, and Android Profiler.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of C++.
- Experience with Bluetooth/BLE, Wi-Fi, USB communication, or device connectivity.
- Exposure to Embedded Systems or IoT applications.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile development methodologies.
- Understanding of Android security best practices.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field.
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Strong ownership mindset and attention to quality.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Linux environments and native system-level development.
