Job Description
The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is one of the largest trade associations in the nation, representing more than 300 heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC), water heating, and commercial refrigeration manufacturers from all parts of the world.
AHRI has an opening for a DevOps Engineer. The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automation solutions that streamline software delivery and infrastructure management. This role requires strong expertise in cloud technologies, networking, virtualization, and scripting to support AHRI’s hybrid environment and cloud-first strategy.
Essential duties and responsibilities for this position are as follows:
- Implement containerization and serverless technologies to optimize application scalability and performance.
- Manage and monitor Microsoft Azure cloud environments ensuring security, compliance, and cost efficiency.
- Automate operational tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell required; Python, Bash preferred).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to networking, virtualization, and cloud services.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field from an accredited college/university.
Relevant Experience:
- 3-plus years of experience in DevOps and operations (network and system administration).
- 3-plus years of hands-on experience in cloud automation and infrastructure as code.
- 3-plus years of clear hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub) for application deployment and infrastructure automation.
- 3-plus years of hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless frameworks.
- Experience as a Help Desk Specialist and Systems Administrator preferred
AHRI offers a full benefits package which includes health insurance benefits, a tuition assistance program, a matching 401(k) program, matching contributions to an HSA plan with a flexible work schedule in a friendly work environment. The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $124,000 based upon relevant experience in the position.
This position does not qualify for employment-based visa sponsorship and/or assistance. This is not a remote position. Due to our selection process and the nature of the position, we are only considering candidates local to the Northern Virginia/DC-Metro area. Employees will work on-site at AHRI's office in Arlington, VA.
AHRI does not have a hybrid work program; however, subject to supervisor approval, AHRI employees are eligible for participation in AHRI's alternate workplace program after 90 days of employment and a 90-day appraisal at a level of "meets expectations". This program allows employees to work from an alternate location up to two days a week with supervisor approval.
