Job Description

Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 Who we are: Canaccord Genuity (CG) is a leading independent full-service financial services firm, with operations in two principal segments of the securities industry: wealth management and capital markets. CG is driven by an unwavering commitment to build lasting client relationships – we achieve this by generating value for our individual, institutional, and corporate clients through comprehensive wealth management solutions and investment banking services. We are a leading independent wealth management firm in Canada, and the leading mid-market provider of investment banking advisory, equity research, sales and trading services for corporations and institutions. We pride ourselves on understanding our clients’ needs and finding innovative, bespoke solutions. Our entrepreneurial and friendly team will challenge you to learn and grow every day. We value great work and collaboration and strive to eliminate bureaucratic thinking. We’re looking for talented people who thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to have an impact with innovative ideas and best practices. Come be a part of our Canadian success story and help deliver superior experiences for our clients. At CG, we recognize that diversity across our business strengthens our client relationships and enables more innovative solutions. We strongly encourage applications from all qualified individuals regardless of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability status. CG provides an accessible candidate experience. If you need any accommodations throughout the interview process and beyond, please let us know. Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is investing in AI-powered tools to support our advisors, operations, and clients. This is a senior, hands-on role for a developer who will help shape our AI strategy and build the first generation of these tools on our existing technology platform. This is an applied development role. You will build primarily on top of established foundation models and managed cloud AI services — using techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, and, where it adds measurable value, fine-tuning of hosted models. You will work closely with our development team, business stakeholders, and compliance and risk functions within a regulated financial-services environment. This is a hybrid role with alternating days in the office. Hours for this role range from pm PST or 7:00 am – 3:00 pm PST, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm PST, 9:00 am -5:00 pm. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain new AI-powered features and integrate them into our existing applications and workflows. - Develop retrieval-augmented (RAG) pipelines, agent and tool-calling workflows, and orchestration over internal documents and data. - Where it delivers measurable value, fine-tune hosted/managed models on our data — including data preparation, evaluation, and guarding against overfitting and data leakage. - Implement AI within a strong data-governance framework: PII protection, data residency, access control, identity flows, and audit logging. - Assess models, vendors, and platforms, and make pragmatic build-versus-buy recommendations. - Establish monitoring, evaluation, and cost-control practices for AI systems in production. - Define technical standards for AI work and mentor members of the existing development team. - Work with risk and compliance to ensure solutions meet regulatory requirements. - Partner with advisors, operations, and compliance to surface, prioritize, and scope practical AI use cases with clear business value. Key Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with 3+ years building AI powered applications. - Strong hands-on experience with at least one of .NET, .NET Framework, C#, or Python. - Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure (App Services, Microsoft Foundry, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Key Vault, etc.). - Hands-on experience building applications with large language models: RAG, function calling/agents, vector search, and evaluation. - Up to date on AI models and agent technologies, and can confidently recommend the most appropriate choice for a specific business problem, balancing performance, cost, and risk - Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party services. - Solid understanding of Azure DevOps for CI/CD, build/release pipelines, and source control (Git). - Strong understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements in financial services. - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. #LI-SK1 #LI-Hybrid #INDHP All applications will be held in strict confidence. In order to be considered for employment, candidates selected for interviews will be required to show proof of citizenship, permanent residence or eligibility to work in Canada with no restrictions. Protecting your online safety: Canaccord Genuity and its affiliates do not use text messages for recruitment purposes. If you have received a text message claiming to be from CG or an authorized representative regarding job recruitment, please treat as fraudulent and do not respond. We wish to thank all candidates for their interest but only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted. No phone calls please. Thank you for your understanding.
