By including everyone and ensuring equal opportunities we unleash our full potential. ## Job Description **Your contribution to something big:** As an **AI/ML Engineering Lead**, you will build and guide a high‑performing team of experts in **machine learning**, **GenAI**, and **digital engineering solutions**. You will define the technical vision, lead complex AI initiatives, and ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and compliant AI systems that support engineering and manufacturing excellence. - Set up, lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of **AI/ML and digital solutions experts**. - Define the team’s **technical roadmap** and oversee project execution to ensure high‑quality delivery. - Design and implement **ML systems** for engineering and manufacturing use cases. - Develop and deploy innovative **AI/ML solutions** to optimize product design and manufacturing workflows. - Provide strategic technical support for implementing AI/ML solutions in production environments. - Manage the **release of ML models** and support handover to operations/DevOps. - Co‑develop solutions with business stakeholders, domain experts, and data engineers. - Contribute to internal **communities of practice** and promote knowledge sharing. - Design and implement **GenAI agents** supporting engineering tasks such as requirements analysis, documentation assistance, test interpretation, and failure analysis. - Build AI pipelines using **LLMs**, embeddings, vector databases, and domain‑specific knowledge sources. - Integrate AI agents with engineering tools, databases, and repositories (e.g., PLM systems, test data platforms, document repositories). - Ensure **reliability, traceability, and safe behavior** of AI agents in regulated engineering environments. - Collaborate with domain experts to evaluate usability, performance, and fit‑for‑purpose. - Document architectures, APIs, integration points, and operational guidelines. - Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure **responsible and compliant AI usage**. - Ideally: Lead digital projects using **Scrum** or classical project management, with domain experience in product or manufacturing engineering. ## Qualifications **What distinguishes you:** **Education** - MSc or Ph.D. in **Computer Science**, **Data Science**, **Machine Learning**, or a related field. **Experience** - Experience leading a **digital or AI/ML team** in an engineering or manufacturing environment. - 3+ years of hands‑on experience in **applied Machine Learning** or **AI engineering**. - Proven experience designing **ML systems in production environments**. - Experience in **GenAI development**, agent orchestration, or AI‑assisted engineering tools. - Solid software engineering background (Python preferred; APIs, microservices). - Familiarity with structured and semi‑structured data (JSON, PDFs, engineering documentation). - Experience in collaborative software development environments. **Technical Skills & Know‑How** - Strong programming skills in **Python** and ML frameworks. - Proficiency in **MLOps** practices, tools, and platforms (experiment tracking, lifecycle management). - Knowledge of **agent frameworks** such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI\_Agents, CrewAI, Swarm, or MCP. - Understanding of **system design**, distributed computing, and data architecture. - Experience with **CI/CD**, testing, documentation, and version control. - Proficiency in state‑of‑the‑art ML algorithms (anomaly detection, time‑series analysis, parameter optimization, root‑cause analysis). - Experience in **data visualization** and storytelling. **Working Style & Methods** - Structured, reliable, and solution‑oriented working style. - Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams. - Comfortable working in **iterative, experimental environments**. **Personality** - Natural leadership qualities with strong communication and mentoring skills. - Curious, proactive, and eager to explore new technologies. - Collaborative mindset and openness to diverse perspectives. ## Additional Information **Work #LikeABosch includes:** ⚖️ Flexible work conditions 🔀 Hybrid work system 🌐 Exchange with colleagues around the world 🛡️ Health insurance 🧑‍⚕️ Medical office (psychology and general clinic) & Social Services Office on site 📚 Training opportunities (p.e., technical training, foreign languages training) & certifications 📈 Opportunities for career progression and continuous professional development 💲 Access to great discounts in partnerships and Bosch products 🏋️ Sports and health related activities 🚉 Great access to public transports 🚌 Free transport from Porto 💰 Flexible benefits platform 🅿️ Free parking lot 🍽️ Canteen **Success stories don´t just happen.
