Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Android Developer to design, build, and maintain high-quality native Android applications. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver polished, performant experiences for our Android users.
**Responsibilities**
- Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable Kotlin code following best practices
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the app
- Identify and correct bottlenecks, fix bugs, and improve app stability
- Integrate with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and third-party SDKs
- Work with Android Studio, Gradle, and Google's build/release tools
- Implement and maintain UI using XML layouts and/or Jetpack Compose
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
- Manage Play Store submission, versioning, and release processes
- Stay current with new Android releases, Jetpack libraries, and industry trends
- Collaborate with QA to ensure timely, high-quality releases
**Requirements**
- 3–6 years of professional experience building native Android applications
- Strong proficiency in **Kotlin**; working knowledge of Java is a plus
- Solid experience with **Jetpack Compose**; experience with XML-based UI a plus
- Strong understanding of Google's Material Design guidelines
- Experience with Android app architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture)
- Experience with Room, Realm, or SQLite for local persistence
- Familiarity with Kotlin Coroutines and/or RxJava for asynchronous programming
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and networking (Retrofit, OkHttp)
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Experience with CI/CD tools for Android (Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions)
- Understanding of memory management, multithreading, and performance optimization
- Experience with dependency injection frameworks (Hilt, Dagger, Koin)
- Experience publishing and maintaining apps on the Google Play Store
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
**Nice to Have**
- Experience with push notifications, deep linking, and background/WorkManager tasks
- Familiarity with unit/UI testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso, Mockito)
- Experience with Firebase (Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config, FCM)
- Knowledge of Google Play Console, internal testing tracks, and release management
- Experience with accessibility (TalkBack) and localization
- Understanding of mobile security best practices (Keystore, encryption, ProGuard/R8)
- Exposure to modularization or multi-module app architecture
- Familiarity with Android's newer architecture components (Navigation, WorkManager, Paging)
