Job Description
ADT is looking for an Experienced Android Mobile Software Engineer to join our Product Engineering mobile team in Irving, TX. In this role, you'll help build and maintain core architecture and customer-facing features for an Android security application used by hundreds of thousands of users daily.
You'll partner with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and other teams to turn product concepts into high-performing Android experiences. This role is ideal for someone who has shipped production Android applications and wants to work on meaningful software within the smart home and security space.

Location and Workstyle:
Irving, TX: Hybrid schedule - onsite a minimum of four days per week, with one remote day. Five days onsite may be required based on business needs.

What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain responsive, robust Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Contribute to architecture and customer-facing features across the Android application.
- Apply modern Android architecture patterns and platform capabilities to improve quality and performance.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to plan, implement, and deliver production-ready software.
- Implement and maintain observability using Dynatrace and related monitoring technologies.
- Partner with development and operations teams to improve system reliability and visibility.
- Collaborate across backend engineering, security, operations, networking, data, and product teams.
- Help standardize mobile frameworks, CI/CD practices, observability, and engineering documentation.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning activities.
What You'll Need
- Hands-on Android development experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- 3+ years of Android development experience in a production environment.
- 5+ years of overall software engineering experience preferred.
- Experience shipping Android applications or features to production.
- Experience with Kotlin Coroutines, dependency injection, caching, WebSockets, REST or GraphQL APIs, JSON parsing, and security concepts.
- Experience working with Bluetooth, geofencing, camera functionality, Wi-Fi, and other Android platform capabilities.
- Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, pull request reviews, and CI/CD tools such as Harness, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Jenkins.
- Experience with Dynatrace, Datadog, or similar observability platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Interest in leveraging AI-enabled development tools while maintaining strong engineering fundamentals.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Matter, Z-Wave Long Range, or local AI inference.
- Knowledge of OWASP, CASA, and mobile security best practices.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Background in smart home, security, IoT, consumer electronics, or connected-device applications.
