What are the minimum qualifications? - Must pass a pre-employment background check. - Must have an Oregon Driver license and have a driving record that meets the City of Salem's driving standards. - Must pass criminal background check necessary to obtain Criminal Justice Information System clearance and Law Enforcement Data System certification within 30 days of hire (clearance must be maintained throughout employment). - A bachelor's degree in computer science, technology, information systems or software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, business or a related field, and five years of professional level information technology experience including business process analysis, application design and computer programming using languages typical to the position, along with project management for small to medium sized projects, or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (Not required to apply): - Preferred qualifications include: understanding the principles and practices of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications programming, implementation of solutions based on ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, experience developing AI solutions, familiarity with AI integration tools and methods, methods and techniques of project management, troubleshooting and problem resolution of AI applications, application design and development tools, and computer languages and programming best practices typical to the AI environment.
