The Role
We are looking for a proactive Assistant Accountant-Receipting who will be responsible for the Account functions and activities. You will assist the Senior Accountant in the implementation of group accounting policies and strategies with respect to Trade Accounts Payable and Cash management.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Administrative Intermediaries
- Reconcile Administrative Intermediary (AI) invoice values to contract and Purchase Order values
- Matching of PO issued to AI suppliers to Invoices and Goods Receipts – Three Way Matching
- Analyzing and reporting of deviations
- Engage and follow up with Inventory and Logistics team on outstanding PO to ensure timely delivery of goods to the warehouse.
- Reconciliation of Administrative Intermediary service providers’ accounts
Foreign Payments Documentation
- Compile customs clearing documents for submission to the bank to support overseas payments
- Ensure all required import documentations are in place to facilitate foreign payments
- Ensure documents are properly stored to facilitate payments and audits.
- Work closely with treasury units by serving as primary contact for all documentation required for foreign supplier payments
- Closely work with AP Supervisor and Business Control team to regularly review local landed cost
Comply with all SMRT policies and procedures, particularly those related to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ).
Qualification & Competencies
- Minimum of 1st Degree in Accounting/Finance/BCom or Part 2 of either ACCA /CA Ghana
- Must have at least two years post qualification experience in similar position
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization
