Job Description

Short Description: The Drupal Web Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing web applications and digital platforms built on the latest versions of Drupal (Drupal 9/10/11). Complete Description: The Drupal Web Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing web applications and digital platforms built on the latest versions of Drupal (Drupal 9/10/11). This role ensures high‑quality, secure, scalable, and user‑centered digital experiences that support organizational goals. The developer collaborates closely with designers, content teams, product owners, and IT leadership to deliver modern, accessible, and high‑performing web solutions. Key Responsibilities Drupal Development & Architecture - Develop, configure, and maintain websites using the latest versions of Drupal (9/10/11). - Build custom modules, themes, and integrations following Drupal best practices. - Implement and maintain content types, views, taxonomies, blocks, and menus. - Ensure code quality through version control, peer reviews, and adherence to coding standards (Drupal Coding Standards, PSR‑4, Composer workflows). Site Maintenance & Enhancements - Perform regular updates, security patches, and module upgrades. - Troubleshoot and resolve site issues, performance bottlenecks, and compatibility problems. - Optimize websites for speed, accessibility (WCAG 2.1+), SEO, and mobile responsiveness. - Maintain documentation for configurations, custom code, and deployment processes. Integration & API Development - Build and maintain integrations with third‑party systems (REST, API, GraphQL, SSO, CRM, payment gateways, etc.). - Work with cloud hosting environments (Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, Azure) to deploy and manage Drupal applications. - Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments. Collaboration & Project Support - Work closely with UX/UI designers to implement modern, user‑friendly interfaces. - Partner with content editors to improve workflows, permissions, and editorial experience. - Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives). - Provide technical guidance and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership. Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 3–5+ years of experience developing with Drupal (including Drupal 9/10/11). - Strong proficiency in PHP, Twig, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design. - Experience with Composer, Drush, Git, and modern development workflows. - Knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB and database optimization. - Experience with cloud hosting platforms (Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, Azure). - Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG), security best practices, and performance optimization. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with headless or decoupled Drupal architectures. - Familiarity with React, Vue, or other modern JavaScript frameworks. - Experience with Docker or containerized development environments. - Acquia Drupal Developer or Site Builder certification. - Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. We cannot submit candidates with recent histories (go back seven years) of extensive driving, drug, robbery or any other illegal activity. Any criminal activity on the background check will eliminate the candidate from consideration. If selected, please make certain that you inform all candidates that they will have to complete this criminal background check prior to starting. NATIONAL background checks are required; Federal background checks are NOT compliant under this contract. A national background check is a national criminal background check that pulls criminal records from State and County Courts in almost every US State. Compensation: $46.00 - $51.00 per hour
