Job Description
We are currently seeking an HR Generalist / Recruiter (Contract) to join our team in Truro, NS. This 6-month contract role offers hands-on experience across both recruitment and general HR—and an exciting opportunity to grow.
Position Overview
This role is ideal for someone early in their HR career who is eager to learn and make an impact. You’ll play a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations, with a strong focus on recruitment and talent acquisition.
No extensive recruiting experience? No problem—we’re ready to train the right candidate. What we’re looking for is attitude, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
Support full-cycle recruitment including job postings, resume screening, and interview coordination
Partner with hiring leaders to understand staffing needs and timelines
Build and maintain candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs
Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process
Assist with onboarding and new hire integration
HR Generalist Support
Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and supervisors
Maintain employee records and HR systems with accuracy and confidentiality
Assist with onboarding, training coordination, and engagement initiatives
Support payroll and benefits administration as needed
Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Bring
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or currently completing)
A strong interest in recruitment and people-focused work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
A proactive, team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn
Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
Working toward a CHRP designation and experience with Dayforce Recruitment Module are considered an assets.
