ALK Abello’ Source Materials, Inc., a leading manufacturer of quality pharmaceutical ingredients and a member of the global ALK-Abello’ group of companies—is excited to announce new opportunities for Controls Engineers (Levels I, II or III). This is a regular, full-time, benefits-eligible positions located at our state-of-the-art 150,000 square foot facility in beautiful Post Falls, ID. What You’ll Do:
- As a Controls Engineer at ASM, you’ll support and advance our pharmaceutical automation systems, ensuring smooth and compliant operations across our facility. Depending on your experience, you could:
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot BAS, PLC, and SCADA systems
- Design, assemble, and document control panels and wiring (schematics, BOMs)
- Integrate new equipment and implement system/process upgrades
- Maintain and create technical documentation, including change controls, deviations, CAPAs, and SOPs
- Support or lead validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ensure audit readiness
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing and lab teams
- Manage procurement, interfacing with vendors and evaluating bids
- Mentor junior engineers (Levels III & Senior) and/or manage larger projects (Sr. level)
- Lead EHS initiatives and participate in risk assessments
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field (required for all levels)
- Relevant experience in controls or automation engineering, preferably in a regulated (pharmaceutical, biotech, or related) environment:
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with BAS, PLC, and SCADA systems (EMS experience a plus for higher levels)
- Familiarity with control panel design, electrical schematics, and validation/GMP compliance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work onsite

Physical Requirements:
- Requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs., sit/stand for prolonged periods, and work onsite in Post Falls, ID.
