Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Cloud Engineer for a hybrid contract role based in Rockville, MD or McLean, VA. This is a 6+ month contract with potential for long-term engagement. The role sits within an AWS-centric application development team that supports a mix of front-end, back-end, and full-stack engineering across five integrated applications. Engineers operate under a shared engineering model and are expected to contribute across multiple systems and blended application environments. Only local candidates in the DC/VA/MD area who can attend an in-person F2F interview and complete an assessment will be considered. H1B and CPT visa holders are not eligible.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect AWS-based cloud solutions across multiple integrated applications
- Contribute across front-end, back-end, and full-stack engineering efforts as needed
- Work within a shared engineering model supporting five distinct applications
- Solve complex problems and drive solution design within AWS environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on blended application environments
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of cloud-based systems
Requirements
- Minimum 9–10 years of overall software engineering experience
- 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience
- Strong problem-solving and solution-design capabilities within AWS-based environments
- Software engineering background preferred over analytics-focused experience
- Must be local to DC/VA/MD area and available for in-person F2F interview
- Must be able to complete an online assessment
- No H1B or CPT visa holders
