Job Description

RecoTek is Reconomy’s new centralized technology hub located in Bucharest, Romania, officially launched in February 2024. Serving as the backbone of Reconomy’s tech operations, it consolidates inhouse expertise across all Reconomy brands to accelerate platform development and enhance service delivery. Reconomy’s full range of capabilities are organized into 3 ‘loops’: Recycle, Comply and Re-use, each providing opportunities for circularity within the wider resource cycle. - Recycle loop is utilising the latest technology and data to enable customers to make the best possible use of their materials. - Comply loop is enabling customers to solve increasingly complex environmental regulatory challenges using data, expert knowledge and thought leadership to drive business accountability across the globe. - Re-use loop is providing intelligent technology platforms and agile delivery models for pre-retail logistics and product returns, fulfilment and processing, on behalf of many of Europe’s largest retailers. ### About the role As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a key role in protecting Reconomy's global technology landscape by implementing and maintaining security controls across our infrastructure and applications. Working as part of our Group Information Security team, you will help strengthen our security posture through vulnerability management, secure configuration, security testing, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with infrastructure, engineering, and application teams to identify security risks, implement technical controls, and ensure security is embedded throughout the technology lifecycle. You'll also contribute to security projects, support penetration testing activities, investigate security issues, and help drive automation and best practices across a modern, cloud-first environment. If you're passionate about cyber security, enjoy solving technical challenges, and want to make a real impact within a collaborative and evolving environment, we'd love to hear from you. ### What we need from you - 2–5 years of experience in **Cyber Security**, Information Security, or a related IT role. - Hands-on experience with **vulnerability management** tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or similar. - Solid understanding of **Windows and Linux** server environments and secure configuration principles. - Knowledge of **network security fundamentals**, patch management, and security best practices. - Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) to support automation and operational tasks. - Familiarity with security frameworks such as **NIST** and **CIS Controls**. - Experience working collaboratively with Infrastructure, Engineering, and IT Operations teams. - A proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). - A professional security certification such as **CompTIA Security+**, **CySA+**, or an equivalent qualification is highly desirable. **Nice to Have** - Experience with **Microsoft Azure** security. - Exposure to **Security Operations (SOC)** environments. - Knowledge of **DevSecOps** practices and application security. - Experience with **SIEM** platforms, container security, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security. - Advanced security certifications such as **CEH**, **GSEC**, or cloud security certifications. ### What we offer - This role offers you the chance to work in a friendly, diverse and international environment, along with colleagues who will share your passion for innovation, agile-working and growth.
