We are a European-headquartered international organisation seeking a talented and motivated Data & AI Engineer to join our growing technology team in India. This role will focus on designing, developing, and supporting modern cloud-based data and AI solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies. The successful candidate will work closely with international stakeholders and contribute to the delivery of scalable data platforms, integrations, automation solutions, and AI-enabled services. This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges and implementing modern cloud and AI technologies within a collaborative international environment. Working arrangements: 1. Employees based in or near Mumbai will work: - 2 days per week in the office - 3 days per week from home on a rota basis 2. Employees outside Mumbai may work remotely, with occasional office attendance when required Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory - Develop, optimise, and support SQL Server databases, stored procedures, and queries - Build Python-based integrations, automation tools, and data processing solutions - Integrate and support Azure AI services and third-party AI APIs - Develop AI-enabled workflows and automation solutions using modern LLM and AI technologies - Work with APIs and cloud services to integrate internal and external systems - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across data and application environments - Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions - Ensure data quality, reliability, performance, and security across platforms - Produce technical documentation and support operational processes - Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to continuous platform improvement Qualifications - 3+ years of relevant industry experience - Ability to work independently while contributing to technical discussions and solution design - Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server - Experience building data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) - Strong Python programming skills - Experience working with Azure AI services and/or AI APIs - Experience integrating REST APIs and cloud-based services - Good understanding of data integration and transformation concepts - Experience troubleshooting and optimising data processes - Familiarity with Azure cloud services and environments - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent spoken and written English communication skills - Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - Comfortable participating in meetings with international teams Desirable Skills - Experience with Azure Functions or serverless architectures - Experience with AI prompt engineering and LLM integrations - Knowledge of Power BI or other data visualisation tools - Experience using Git and version control systems - Experience working within Agile environments - Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines Compensation & Benefits - Opportunity to work with modern cloud and AI technologies - Exposure to international projects and stakeholders - Collaborative and fast-paced working environment - Hybrid working model supporting work-life balance - International travel opportunities - Career development and growth opportunities within an expanding technology team - Direct collaboration with overseas teams and decision-makers We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
