The Role Are you a data engineer who loves solving complex backend puzzles and actually understands what happens under the hood? While many roles focus solely on surface-level cloud pipelines, this position offers the best of both worlds: architecting and optimising high-performance, on-premises enterprise systems while building the modern multi-cloud bridges that power our future. We are looking for a Mid-Level Data Engineer with a strong foundations-first mindset. The vast majority of our strategic data assets reside in our high-performance on-prem environments. Your primary focus will be managing, optimizing, and scaling these critical on-prem environments while simultaneously building and managing the pipelines that connect them to our multi-cloud ecosystems (AWS and GCP) and SaaS operational platforms (including Genesys). What you'll do: - On-Premises Core Management: Optimise, maintain, and model data structures within our primary SQL Server environment where our core strategic assets live. - Hybrid Pipeline Engineering: Design, build, and monitor robust ETL/ELT pipelines that securely bridge on-premises databases with AWS and GCP cloud endpoints. - SaaS Integration: Build and maintain scalable ingestion pipelines to extract and transform data from external SaaS platforms using REST, SDK's into the core data ecosystem. - Performance Optimisation: Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, specifically focusing on advanced query tuning and indexing. - Data Scheduling & Orchestration: Implement and manage unified data workflows and dependencies across both local servers and multi-cloud infrastructure using modern orchestration tools.(MS Agent) - Security & Governance Compliance: Ensure all data movement across hybrid environments strictly adheres to internal network security policies, firewalls, and data compliance standards. We are looking for: - At least 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, with a heavy emphasis on enterprise on-premises environments. - Deep expertise with SQL Server, including writing/tuning complex stored procedures and understanding physical database architecture. - Hands-on experience working with data services within both AWS and GCP - Proven experience integrating operational SaaS APIs (e.g., Genesys contact centre data) into centralised data systems. - Hands on experience in SQL Server BI Stack (SQL Server Database, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS and PowerBI) - Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python (or Shell scripting) for automated pipeline scripting and API consumption. - Competency in working with Git based source control systems. - Experience with data orchestration tools (MSAgent) and transformation frameworks configured for hybrid architectures. - Understanding of local network architectures, secure file transfers (SFTP/SSH), firewalls, and data security protocols. - Experience in Multi dimensional models (Kimball methodology) Why Join us - We live by our values: Safety, Agility, Decency, Courage, Ownership, and Teamwork.
