Job Description
The Designer is responsible for applying a diversified knowledge of modeling and drafting principles and practices to broad areas of assignments relating to the development, design, and documentation of agricultural, municipal, and construction equipment. The Designer will receive general direction around key objectives and will be expected to complete assigned duties with minimal direction.

- Use CAD software to prepare clear, complete, and accurate working drawings and supporting 3D models in cooperation with design engineers.
- Provide mentoring and training for CAD and PDM applications through documentation, over-the-shoulder, and live training sessions.
- Support authoring, monitoring and enforcing standard procedures/structure & best practices for CAD usage.
- Manage and maintain design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and bill of materials (BOMs)
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from supervisors and peer checkers

- Participate and contribute in design meetings with engineers as necessary.
- Write and incorporate Engineering Change Requests.
- Support 2d drawing checks for correctness and completeness.
- Uses SolidWorks effectively as a design tool.
- Collaborate with engineers and other departments to ensure project success
- Review and approve all drawings and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide excellent customer service by meeting target dates and communicating well with internal customers and team members.

Requirements
Qualifications and Essential Skills:
- Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience as Designer/ Drafter using CAD systems for the design of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical fabrications and assemblies.
- Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional in Mechanical Design or ability to obtain in first year of service.
- Computer literate, specifically in Microsoft file management systems, Excel, & Word.
- Prior experience with administering SolidWorks PDM and 3D/2D CAD software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in hydraulic/electrical/mechanical assembly, sheet metal fabrication, measuring systems, shop mathematics and assembly techniques.

The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet. Employee may be exposed to shop environment while distributing documents to shop area. When on shop floor, employee will be required to wear safety glasses at all times, steel-toed footwear and ear protection when job demands presence in areas outside safety zones and gloves when handling material.
