In this role, you’ll design and support modern DevOps and cloud solutions that power mission-critical intelligence systems. As part of our Common Operations Release Environment (CORE) team, you’ll help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter by supporting an Intelligence Community customer in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. ## What You’ll Do As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll be a key contributor to designing, automating, and maintaining secure, scalable platform services across on-prem and cloud environments. You will: - Automate the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of platform services - Architect, build, and support on-prem and cloud infrastructure - Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve reliability and deployment speed - Administer production, staging, and development environments - Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization - Manage centralized logging and monitor for security and system events - Improve system monitoring while ensuring compliance with security standards - Apply configuration management best practices (patching, hardening, documentation) - Enforce security and reliability best practices, including access controls and vulnerability testing - Partner with A&A and security teams to maintain authorization and compliance requirements - Participate in operational readiness reviews and present system readiness updates - Support Agile (SAFe/Scrum) development teams and ceremonies - Provide on-call support as required ## What You’ll Bring ### Required Skills & Experience - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or any related field/major - 5+ years of experience - Proficiency with Linux - Ability to manage networking for web application by understanding TCP/IP and DNS - Hands-on experience with container platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, or OpenShift, with ideal knowledge of AWS - Experience creating and modifying Helm Charts and configuring deployments to multi-environments (e.g. dev, stage, prod) across multiple security domains - Experience with Infrastructure as Code (one or more of Terraform, Cloud Formation, AWS CDK, Ansible, Chef, Puppet) - Experience with Gitlab and Gitlab CI/CD pipelines; (knowledge of Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar) - Knowledge of containerization, monitoring and logging, and network & security - Experience deploying and managing databases, interacting with databases via SQL and ORMs - Experience monitoring and updating tokens - Comfortable using Python and BASH to create systems tooling - Ability to contribute code updates/tweaks to existing code repositories - Experience with integrating security components with applications and databases ## Nice to Have - Experience with software system design, able to create application architecture for new applications - Familiarity with Configuration Management and Request for Change process for review and assessment - Experience with delivery of an integrated solution using Agile software delivery techniques - Technical certification: Network+, Security+, Oracle or specializing in Software Development, or Cloud Computing - Experience in System Engineering and project/program management - Knowledge and/or experience with NGA enterprise products (including NGA CORE tools; ie Wormhole) Additional Information - All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. - Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $165-175k.
