Red Arch is hiring a DevOps Engineer to join our team! Position Detail: We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to support the modernization and deployment of a critical government information system. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Nexus Repository management, and building and maintaining Apache Solr clusters with Zookeeper in production environments. You will be responsible for automating deployment processes, managing artifact repositories, and orchestrating infrastructure upgrades across Windows Server environments while planning the migration path to AWS cloud infrastructure. Strong expertise in Windows Server administration, AWS cloud services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform), and infrastructure-as-code practices are essential. Experience with containerization strategies for Java applications, configuration management tools, and implementing security controls in both on-premises VMware and cloud environments is highly valued. Position Responsibilities: CI/CD & Automation: • Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments • Automate deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments • Manage Nexus Repository for artifact storage and dependency management • Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using CloudFormation and/or Terraform Infrastructure Management: • Build and maintain Apache Solr clusters with Zookeeper in production environments • Administer Windows Server environments and orchestrate infrastructure upgrades • Plan and execute migration strategies from on-premises VMware to AWS cloud infrastructure • Configure and manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, and related components Containerization & Security: • Develop containerization strategies for Java applications • Implement configuration management tools and practices • Apply security controls in both on-premises VMware and AWS cloud environments • Monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies Education and Experience 13+ Years of experience in Systems or IT related roles or a highly related field of work with similar scope and responsibilities. A Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience and a Master’s Degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience Required Quals • Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines • Nexus Repository management experience • Building and maintaining Apache Solr clusters with Zookeeper in production environments • Strong expertise in Windows Server administration • Strong expertise in AWS cloud services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform) • Infrastructure-as-code practices • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a TS/SCI government clearance which requires US Desired Quals • TS/SCI with an in-scope Polygraph • Containerization strategies for Java applications • Configuration management tools • Implementing security controls in both on-premises VMware and cloud environments Work Locations Annapolis Jct, MD, Washington DC or Reston VA Salary range for this position $129,000-179,000 #CJ The Red Arch Solutions pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
