## Job Description
**AECOM** is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Remediation group in Denver, CO. We are seeking a candidate who is an excellent communicator and technically capable, with an awareness of relevant regulations. The successful candidate will work under the oversight of an experienced team of engineers and scientists on environmental site assessments, remedial and solid waste design and construction, and environmental support on multi-disciplinary projects. This position will involve field and office responsibilities with potential for growth. We will consider candidates from other locations such as: Fort Collins, Oakland, LA, Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Midland.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Performs standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
- Detect problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc.
- Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.
- Proposes appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assists in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
- Draw conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Works under general supervision.
- Flexible with working extended hours and locations, travel may be greater than 50 percent of time.
- Must be able to do day travel regionally.
## Qualifications
**Minimum Requirements**
- Bachelor's Degree in environmental sciences or engineering or other related fields, AND two plus (2+) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
- Valid driver's license.
- Subject to a pre-employment Background check.
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
- Due to some of the sites, US Citizenship or a permanent resident is required.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master's Degree preferred
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues and sub-contractors alike.
- Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks.
- Scientific research and report writing (including web based research).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Strong quality and time management.
- Self-starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative.
- Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work.
- Seeking professional certifications.
- 40hr OSHA HAZWOPER certificate.
- Microsoft Office, AutoCADD, GIS applications.
