About Operation Santa Claus:
Operation Santa Claus (OSC), a homegrown flagship annual fundraising drive jointly established by SCMP and RTHK in 1988, has grown from modest beginnings to become one of Hong Kong’s most recognised charity initiatives. It connects thousands of partners, fostering philanthropy, with its legacy continued by SCMP Charities Limited, a tax exempted charitable institute under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (File No.: 91/7320).

Purpose of the Position:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the candidate will be a crucial member of a close-knit team, playing a vital role in the successful execution of the signature charity campaign Operation Santa Claus. This multifaceted position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to both the operational and outreach aspects of our work.
In this role, you will:
- Event Management: Assist in planning and execution of various charity fundraising events, including and not limited to signature street fairs, sports tournaments, school fundraise challenges.This includes meticulous logistical arrangements, venue sourcing, permit applications, vendor and volunteer management, and ensuring the seamless delivery of the events.
- Marketing and Publicity: Contribute to our public awareness efforts by assisting with website updates and seasonal eDM. You will also facilitate marketing and publicity initiatives across various charity appeal touch points, including locating specific coverage specs, social media content reshare and coordination of print advertisements to align with schedules.
- Administrative Support: Deliver vital administrative support that keeps our team running smoothly and efficiently. You'll handle everything from swiftly processing donation receipts and ensuring grant agreements are signed off, to meticulously consolidating beneficiary reports. Plus, you'll maintain tidy, organized files and keep our databases fresh and up-to-date
Skills and Experience that will lead to success:
- A proactive and highly organized individual with a strong attention to detail.
- At least one year of relevant work experience in administrative, events, communications-related roles.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in event planning and execution is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with basic website content management (wordpress, canva, mailchimp) and social media platforms is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred.
- A genuine passion for charitable work and a strong commitment to making a difference in the community.
- Fluency in English and Cantonese is preferred.
Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
