Job Description

### Responsibilities This FACILITIES ENGINEER will be located in our Plant 4 and will be responsible for plant equipment and building maintenance as well as project planning and implementation, plant equipment layouts, and troubleshooting equipment problems for assigned plants within one or more facilities. Job Roles - Systems thinker--sees the business and its operation holistically; understands actions and reactions; considers multiple pathways of potential effect before decisions; thinks strategically about interventions with an eye toward scale - Optimizer--constantly challenging the organization to work smarter; supports others to ensure they have what they need to do their work successfully - Anticipation--looks ahead to minimize potential issues and maximize advantages; prepares others for what comes next - Operational accelerator--drives continuous improvement; understands ramifications of automation and other advances; advocates for safety, ergonomics and scalable solutions - Organization and structure--works within existing structures while striving to improve and standardize them; provides accurate information; galvanizes others toward common goals - Influence--leverages knowledge, relationship, data and perspective to persuade, educate and navigate; gains buy in and adoption of ideas and practices at scale; interacts with a variety of stakeholders - Data informed--focused on things that drive quantifiable business outcomes; evaluates based on quantitative feedback; knows and explains the “why” behind actions - Prioritized reaction--handles the unexpected without losing sight of important objectives; reacts where greatest leverage points exist - Relationship--connects individually and with teams across shifts and practices; builds rapport and commonality; creates a “win together” ethic; serves as liaison between shop floor and engineering; keeps the pulse of the floor; helps people feel heard Responsibilities Responsible for plant equipment and building maintenance as well as project planning and implementation, plant equipment layouts, and troubleshooting equipment problems for assigned plants within one or more facilities. - Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to industrial machinery and equipment design. - Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment o modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors. - Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages, and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning. - Directs the operation of the physical facility functions including equipment installations and service functions for facility (includes safety and outside contractors). - Plans, formulates and administers various engineering programs. - Designs and facilitates capital projects within the facility. - May supervise departmental and/or maintenance employees. Develops, trains and motivates; make job assignments, and follows contract and/or company policies. - Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. - Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. - Tests newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications. - Oversees maintenance of facility and equipment. - Performs equipment and project design. - Plans and supervises project work. - Provides manufacturing support to business centers. - Performs cost estimating. - Troubleshoots equipment. - Initiates purchase for equipment and maintenance supplies. - Reports on maintenance and engineering activities to management. ### Qualifications BASIC REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution - Previous relevant experience in maintenance/facilities or engineering in a manufacturing or industrial setting - Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution. - Good understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic and their relationship to electrical control. - Good understanding of chemical cleaning processes and chemical waste disposal. - Good mechanical aptitude (piping, layouts, structural, etc.) and blueprint reading capabilities. - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodics, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. - Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills. - Past experience with AutoCAD and/or Solid Works with strong attention to details - Previous experience with managing projects and working with outside contractors. - Good work ethic and adherence to safety protocols and culture - Knowledge of MS Office and AutoCAD. - Able to work in a self-directed or team environment and have good organizations skills. - Ability to work independently and with initiative. - Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude. ### About the Company Howmet Aerospace Inc.
