Job Description
Join a high-performance team where your cloud expertise directly powers the FBI’s mission-critical financial intelligence. As a Cloud Developer (Mid) at SMX, you will be involved with the digital transformation and building and maintaining the cloud-native infrastructure that supports global enterprise accounting and facilities management. You won't just be managing servers; you will be taking ownership of "can’t-fail" national security systems, transitioning legacy data into cutting-edge AWS environments. This position is on site in Washington, DC and requires an active Top-Secret clearance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Architect Cloud Delivery Models: Design and cloud frameworks to support Data Warehouse and Financial Reporting
- Operationalize Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Terraform and Ansible to automate the provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of AWS resources, ensuring a repeatable and auditable environment.
- Lead Mission-Critical Migrations: Execute the technical migration of legacy data to secure AWS enclaves, refactoring workloads for optimal cloud performance.
- Engineer DevSecOps Pipelines: Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab to integrate security gates and functional testing into every software deployment.
- Optimize Performance & Cost: Conduct deep-dive analysis of cloud utilization to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement scaling strategies that maintain a target of 99.9% system uptime.
- Enforce Security Hardening: Implement technical controls aligned ensuring all EC2 instances and containers are STIG compliant before production release.
- Collaborate on Agile Solutions: Participate in all phases of the Agile process to solve complex debugging challenges across the full cloud stack.
Required Skills & Experience
- Security Clearance: Must possess an active Top Secret (TS) clearance.
- Cloud Proficiency: Experience in cloud development, with specific expertise in core AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and RDS (Aurora PostgreSQL).
- Automation & Scripting: Demonstrated proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform/Ansible) and scripting languages such as Python or Node.js.
- DevSecOps Experience: Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab or similar enterprise-grade version control systems.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Ability to independently debug complex cloud stacks and resolve incidents within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Certifications: AWS Certified Developer – Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Enterprise Tooling: Familiarity with Splunk for centralized logging and performance monitoring.
- BI Environment Awareness: Prior experience or training with Tibco WebFOCUS or similar Business Intelligence platforms in a financial reporting context.
- Containerization: Familiarity with Docker or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) for managing containerized microservices.

The proposed salary for this position is:
$79,600—$133,800 USD
