Job Description

The Field Service Engineer is one of the core functions within our organization and represents one of the largest workforce groups. Honeywell operates service centers across Japan, supporting customers in industries such as oil refining, pulp & paper, and other large-scale manufacturing plants. The primary mission of this role is to ensure the stable and safe operation of Honeywell systems installed at customer sites. As Honeywell continuously adopts advanced technologies, this role offers an excellent opportunity to stay motivated while developing a high level of technical expertise. Engineers are assigned to regional service centers and play a key role in supporting plant operations. While the responsibility is significant, training is structured and provided from the fundamentals over several years. Work is conducted in teams, making this position accessible even for less experienced candidates. By steadily building knowledge and expertise, individuals can grow into highly trusted engineers working with leading manufacturers in Japan. ### Responsibilities Responsibilities This role is ideal for individuals who wish to build long-term relationships with customers and develop deep technical expertise. After gaining experience in both hardware and software maintenance, inspection, and project execution, employees can pursue diverse career paths, including technical specialist roles, engineering management, and project management. Key responsibilities include: - Maintenance and inspection of Honeywell systems embedded in customer plants - Providing after-service support tailored to customer requirements - Participating in system upgrade projects, working in team-based project environments Core Duties - Conduct system inspections and troubleshooting - Visit customer sites to ensure systems are operating safely and maintaining required functionality - Each team typically supports 2 to 5 plant sites - Administrative and technical support tasks - Prepare quotations for after-service and system modifications - Plan system upgrades and software changes - Respond to customer inquiries - Technical proposal activities - Provide solutions based on field knowledge when customers request improvements or new functionalities - Incentives are provided when proposals lead to contracts (sales function is handled separately) - Communication with global teams - Primarily via email - Reading and writing skills in English are sufficient Position Highlights - Contribute to the stable operation of industrial infrastructure through Honeywell’s advanced control technologies - Play a key role as a trusted customer-facing representative - Opportunity to evolve into senior roles including proposal development and sales support - Continuous professional growth through diverse technical experiences - A highly impactful role contributing to society and industry ### Qualifications Required - Experience in a technical role OR a degree in engineering / technical field - Ordinary Driver License Preferred - Experience as a Field Engineer or Service Engineer (maintenance and support) - Experience in plant or factory technical operations - Experience with: - DCS (Distributed Control Systems) operations or maintenance - Instrumentation engineering - Industrial systems such as control systems or quality management systems - Experience with: - Server and network system maintenance - Troubleshooting in urgent or critical situations ### About the Company Honeywell helps organizations solve the world's most complex challenges in automation, the future of aviation and energy transition.
