Job Description

We are seeking a Fixture Designer to join the Fixture Design team in the Alameda office. This role focuses on developing technical drawings for high-end retail fixtures while ensuring compliance with client and industry standards. This role will play a critical role in enabling efficient, cost-effective manufacturing and installation by producing accurate documentation and supporting product data. What You'll Do - Develop technical drawings and documentation for high-end retail fixtures that meet client scope, design intent, and manufacturability requirements - Ensure all designs comply with client product standards, industry best practices, and internal processes - Produce accurate shop drawings and support documentation to enable complete and timely fabrication and installation - Support the production design and development process by resolving technical issues and creating working models - Review build partner drawings to ensure alignment with product specifications and installation standards - Assist in the creation of mockups, models, and design validation samples from sketches and architectural plans - Maintain project documentation, including samples, specification sheets, and design guides - Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on material research and manufacturing techniques Minimum Qualifications - Design engineering experience in metal and wood product manufacturing; retail client experience preferred - Experience with prototyping, product testing, and direct collaboration with clients or vendors is a plus - Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, Inventor, Revit, or similar platforms; knowledge of millwork, fixtures, cabinetry, or related industries required - Degree in architecture, industrial or engineering design, graphic/creative arts, or a related field preferred - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate technical concepts to a non technical audience - Ability to problem solve in a collaborative environment Benefits - 100% Paid Employee Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance - 401k Profit Sharing - Paid Holidays, Vacation, Volunteer, and Sick Time Off - Professional development stipend - LinkedIn Learning and Hone classes - Hybrid work stipend, office snacks, and monthly lunches - Commuter Benefits - Flexible Spending Accounts - Company sponsored Life, AD&D, and Disability Insurance About MBH Architects MBH Architects offers the best of both worlds: the resources of a top-tier firm with the supportive culture of a close-knit team.
