Job Description
# Build the Market Leader in Satellite Analytics with us at LiveEO
**About the role**
You will work on applications that use deep learning and satellite data to help companies and governments fight deforestation, monitor critical infrastructure, and respond faster and more precisely to natural disasters. Our aim is to empower any user in the world to harness the power of earth observation satellites to simplify and improve their daily work.
As a full-stack engineer on our product team you will own large topics end-to-end — from early design through production. Specifically, in the start, you will support us in building integrations with 3rd-parties both through dedicated frontends and backend modules.
We are a team of five engineers today, actively growing, embedded in a cross-functional group of product managers, UX/UI designers, backend, DevOps, ML, and geospatial engineering experts.
**How we work**
Our development lifecycle is a pragmatic scrumban: structured enough to coordinate, loose enough to move fast. Engineers here are highly autonomous. You will own topics from early exploration through delivery, act like a product engineer with deep domain knowledge, and make decisions yourself or in small circles without needing sign-off chains.
We take agentic development seriously, but are aware of its limits. Tickets with solid acceptance criteria become agentic specs that agents implement in test-driven setups. Code review is a mix of agent and human - whichever is most effective for the change at hand. We ship to production at least weekly. And yes, we actively encourage engineers to keep coding and debugging manually to stay sharp; the goal is augmented engineers, not engineers who've forgotten how to program
# Your challenge
- Build and extend features end-to-end handling large volumes of geospatial data with great UX and design
- Construct well-designed and performant APIs and backend services for 3rd-party partners and customers
- Work in cross-functional teams on large topics from very early on. Understand the domain and own features from initial idea to continuous monitoring and incident response
**Stack**
- Frontend: React, TypeScript
- Backend: NestJS, TypeORM, Python
- Database: PostgreSQL (including geospatial workloads)
- Infrastructure & CI/CD: Gitlab, AWS
# Your profile
**Must have:**
- Strong TypeScript and React (VueJS or Preact also fine)
- Backend experience with NestJS, Express, or Node.js, AWS
- Experience with CI/CD and modern software architecture practices
- Hands-on familiarity with agentic coding setups - you've used AI-assisted workflows in your actual day-to-day, not just experimented
**Nice to have:**
- Experience with spec-driven or test-driven agentic development
- Web-based geospatial / GIS development
- A sense for design and UX - enough to handle smaller design decisions autonomously
# Your Benefits
- The opportunity to create a product that can improve business processes and lives across the globe.
- Flexible working hours and hybrid work model - we trust our employees to get their work done while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
- We empower employees to drive their own career development, take initiative and have the freedom to be creative and bold.
- Not an overtime culture - we take care that overtime is done only as a necessity and always offset with time off and rest.
- A collaborative and learning environment - frequent internal workshops, knowledge sharing sessions, journal clubs and hackathons.
