Job Description

## About Rebar Rebar is building the AI operating system for commercial HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing. Commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing firms run billion-dollar construction projects on workflows that still look like it’s 1985. Construction is 10% of GDP and still massively underserved by software. We are changing that. We recently raised a $14M Series A from leading construction tech investors and are entering our next phase of growth. We are building a set of AI native products that will define how this industry operates. We are looking for a GTM/Growth Engineer who wants to build, move fast, and take ownership early. You will help define how AI changes one of the largest industries in the world. ## The Role Rebar's revenue motion runs on people, not systems, across the board: new pipeline, expansion in existing accounts, and the deals we lose and never look at again. As a GTM Engineer here, you'll build the automation layer underneath all of it, not just one slice. That means enrichment, scoring, and routing for outbound; signals that flag expansion and renewal opportunity inside the accounts we already have; and re-engagement systems that turn closed-lost into a working pipeline instead of a dead list. You'll also be the connective tissue with Marketing, making sure lead scoring, campaign data, and lifecycle triggers actually flow into the systems the sales team runs on, instead of living in two disconnected worlds. You won't get there by writing software the traditional way. You'll get there by being genuinely fluent directing an AI IDE (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or similar) to build real, working systems fast, and sharp enough to catch it when the AI confidently hands you a wrong answer. You'll own this alongside the Head of Sales, not instead of him: he stays in the stack with you, you're the one building and running it day to day, across BDRs, AEs, and Marketing alike. This is a builder's role for someone who thinks like a seller. You should care as much about what makes a deal move, expand, or come back to life as you do about what makes an automation run. ## You Will ### Build the automation layer across the full revenue lifecycle - Design and ship enrichment, scoring, and routing pipelines for new pipeline generation - Build signal-based systems that flag expansion and renewal opportunity inside existing accounts - Build re-engagement and win-back automation for closed-lost deals, so nothing just dies in the CRM - Use AI coding tools to build and iterate fast, verifying every output rather than trusting it blindly - Own the tooling day to day: build it, run it, fix it when it breaks ### Partner across the go-to-market org - Work with BDRs on outbound systems that make every touch sharper, not just more volume - Work with AEs on the signals and workflows that surface expansion and renewal opportunity before it's missed - Work with Marketing to connect lead scoring, campaign data, and lifecycle triggers into the systems Sales actually runs on - Bring the Head of Sales problems and options, not just finished systems, especially early on ### Move revenue metrics - Ship a working system in your first 90 days, then keep iterating against real numbers - Track and report on pipeline generated, expansion/renewal revenue influenced, and closed-lost win-back rate, not just systems shipped - Learn what's actually driving (or killing) results at each stage, and rebuild the workflow accordingly ## What We're Looking For ### Required - 2–5 years of experience, most of it closer to sales, growth, RevOps, or marketing ops than to traditional software engineering - Genuinely fluent directing an AI coding tool (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or similar) to build and ship real automations - A track record of building or shipping revenue automation (Clay, HubSpot workflows, sequencing or lifecycle logic) at a prior company - A verification instinct: you catch it when an AI's output looks right but isn't - Comfortable in a terminal/IDE environment, even without a formal CS background - Comfortable in early-stage environments: scrappy, creative, and fast ### Strong plus (shortens your ramp) - Experience building systems that span sales and marketing (shared lead scoring, campaign-to-CRM handoff, lifecycle automation), not just BDR-outbound tools - Has worked on expansion, renewal, or win-back motions, not only new-logo pipeline - Came up through a BDR, AE, growth, or marketing ops role at a company known for automation-heavy revenue systems - Has quietly built their own workflows to move a number faster, even informally, before it was their job - Active in the Clay community, GTM-engineering circles, or the "build in public" AI-automation world - Genuine curiosity about the construction/HVAC vertical, not just the GTM-engineering title ## Compensation and Benefits - Salary: competitive, based on experience - Equity: meaningful grant, aligned with your background - Benefits: medical, dental, vision - Perks: free lunches and dinners This is a full-time, onsite role in NYC's Flatiron District, steps from Madison Square Park and Union Square.
