Join Our Team
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources & Payroll Manager to support our growing home health and hospice organizations throughout Dallas County. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic HR initiatives with day-to-day operations while ensuring payroll is processed accurately and employees receive exceptional support.
The HR & Payroll Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources and payroll administration for multiple locations, partnering closely with operational leaders to attract, retain, and support an engaged workforce dedicated to providing compassionate patient care.
What You'll Do
Human Resources
- Serve as the primary HR business partner for multiple agency locations.
- Manage employee relations, coaching, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and employee offboarding.
- Administer performance management, corrective action, and employee development.
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning and retention initiatives.
- Maintain employee records and HRIS data integrity.
- Support benefit administration and employee leave management.
- Monitor HR metrics including turnover, vacancies, time-to-hire, and retention.
- Conduct periodic audits of personnel files and HR compliance documentation.
Payroll
- Process multi-site payroll accurately and on time.
- Audit payroll data including new hires, terminations, pay changes, bonuses, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
- Process garnishments, tax changes, direct deposits, and payroll adjustments.
- Reconcile payroll reports and partner with Finance on payroll-related inquiries.
- Troubleshoot payroll issues and respond promptly to employee questions.
Leadership
- Build strong relationships with agency leadership and department managers.
- Coach supervisors on HR best practices and employment law.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR and payroll processes.
- Assist with organizational change initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including payroll administration.
- Experience in home health, hospice, healthcare, and multi-site operations required.
- Working knowledge of:
- Payroll processing
- Employee relations
- Benefits administration
- Leave management
- FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, and other employment laws
- Experience with an HRIS/payroll system such as ADP Workforce Now preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel.
