WHAT IMPACT YOU CREATE AT CHANEL
We are seeking for a passionate and detail-oriented Assistant Junior Designer intern to join our Studio team based in Paris.
We are looking for a Fashion Knitwear or Knitted Textile student who is keen to broaden their design and technical skills through a hands-on internship within our knitwear team. This placement offers exposure to the full knitwear development process, from research to fabric and garment development.
- Conduct fashion, trend, and textile image research
- Assist in knitted fabric design and development with a hands-on approach
- Work with machine knitting, including domestic knitting machines
- Support hand knitting and sampling; crochet skills are a plus
- Assist in garment development, including flat sketches
- Support sampling, prototyping, and development processes
- Organise yarns, swatches, samples, and design files
- Support the team during collection development and fittings
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- BA/MA degree in Fashion Design and strong design and knitwear sensitivity
- Strong knowledge of machine knitting techniques
- Confident with domestic knitting machines and hand knitting
- Understanding of knitted structures and textile development
- Strong visual research skills
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Ability to speak and write English fluently and ideally French
