Job Description

The Systems Operations Engineer is responsible for the reliability, security, and evolution of the infrastructure underpinning Nokia’s Customer Documentation ecosystem. The Systems Operations Engineer is responsible for the reliability, security, and evolution of the infrastructure underpinning Nokia’s Customer Documentation ecosystem. The environment includes cloud-hosted services and virtual machines in multiple data centers, with a mix of platforms (including GCP and other cloud or virtualized infrastructures). This role is the primary point of contact for all technical matters related to the documentation ecosystem across NI and other Nokia teams, ensuring smooth operations, robust integrations, and a consistently high-quality experience for our customers. ### Responsibilities Your responsibilities - Run and maintain Linux servers and services across cloud and virtualized environments (including GCP and on‑prem VMs). - Manage server user accounts, access rights, and compliance with Nokia security policies. - Install, upgrade, and patch base software and applications on servers. - Diagnose and resolve issues across servers, applications, databases, and integrations; drive root‑cause fixes. - Administer and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including backup and recovery. - Configure and support Apache HTTP Server, Azure SSO integrations, and Git‑based workflows. - Develop automation and tooling using Perl, Python, and shell scripts. - Project‑manage new tools and platform initiatives within the tools team (scoping, planning, coordination, and communication with stakeholders). - Document architectures, configurations, and operational procedures; collaborate closely with product, IT, and security teams. You’ll Succeed in This Role If You - Enjoy solving problems and improving developer and documentation workflows - Can work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams - Communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders - Pay close attention to detail and take pride in delivering high‑quality solutions ### Qualifications Requirements - Experience operating Linux servers in cloud/virtualized environments (GCP, Azure, or AWS). - Strong skills in scripting (Perl, Python, shell) and SQL/PostgreSQL. - Practical experience with Apache, identity/SSO (Azure AD/SAML/OIDC), and Git. - Solid understanding of IT security practices and disciplined documentation habits. - Project Management across teams - Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and coordinate with multiple teams. Nice to Have - Knowledge of IP or Optical networking technologies - Experience with technical documentation systems or publishing pipelines - Familiarity with structured content and automation‑based documentation approaches ### About the Company Advancing connectivity to secure a brighter world.
