Job Description
KSD Technologies is hiring a Senior HMI & Embedded Engineer for its Embedded Systems & Controls team in Bengaluru. This role designs, develops and maintains HMI applications and embedded software for road construction equipment, working closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls and Validation teams across the product development lifecycle. Ideal candidates bring hands-on ECU and embedded systems experience from the off-highway, agricultural, construction or mining equipment sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain HMI applications and embedded software for road construction equipment
- Develop software using Embedded C/C++ and integrate HMI with ECUs through CAN, CANopen and SAE J1939 protocols
- Perform software debugging, testing, validation and root cause analysis
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls and Validation teams throughout the product development lifecycle
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers
- Prepare software architecture, design documentation and release documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems or a related discipline
- 5 to 9 years of relevant experience, preferably from Off-Highway, Agricultural, Construction or Mining Equipment
- Strong knowledge of HMI and Embedded Software Architecture
- Hands-on experience with Embedded Systems and Electronic Control Units (ECUs) is mandatory
- Strong programming skills in Embedded C/C++
- Knowledge of CAN communication protocols including CANopen and SAE J1939
- Experience with CodeSys is preferred
- Knowledge of Functional Safety standards such as ISO 13849, ISO 25119 or ISO 26262 is an added advantage
- Awareness of security practices for HMI systems
