Job Description
### Responsibilities
- Resolves quality issues by identifying problems, examining solutions and providing feedback to the UL Retail customer, including issues of capability, tolerancing, and materials/handling related issues.
- Effectively communicates and reinforces the UL commitment to quality improvement efforts
- Assists in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control plans and Measurement system analysis.
- Assists in the Development / validation of test and inspection plans designed to assure quality of products based on a review of UL, ANSI, industry trends, and historical performance data.
- Supports the Retail Customer in the review and resolution of issues with suppliers, factories, service providers, merchandising, store operations, distribution, safety, customers, and other related supply chain components as required.
- Analyzes and interprets assessment, test, and inspection results, determine root cause of failures and non-conformities, and drive continuous improvement and best practices.
- Assists in defining, developing and deploying data, analytics and reporting products and services.
- Conducts data validation, statistical analyses, and data mapping.
- Performs other duties as directed.
### Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Strong ability to assess technical requirements, identify project needs, and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of printed circuit boards (PCBs), including datasheet interpretation, pinout analysis, and integrated circuit (IC) functionality.
- Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, system integration, and prototype assembly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools; woodworking or fabrication experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of mechatronics, automation systems, or electromechanical assemblies preferred but not required.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize system functionality and testing requirements.
