Job Description

Now100 is seeking an experienced Java Software Developer for a Corp-to-Corp (C2C) contract engagement supporting the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance in Albany, NY. Candidates must have prior New York State client experience and deep expertise across J2EE technologies, relational databases, messaging systems, and modern front-end web technologies. This is a hands-on development role building, testing, and maintaining enterprise Java EE applications for a state government client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test Java EE applications using J2EE technologies including JDBC, JSP, and XML
  • Write and optimize SQL statements for relational databases
  • Build and maintain applications using modern IDEs such as Eclipse, NetBeans, or IntelliJ
  • Develop enterprise applications using J2EE frameworks such as Spring or Struts
  • Implement messaging solutions using technologies such as MQ, JMS, or Kafka
  • Develop front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Work with Business Rules Management System (BRMS) tools, commercial or open source
  • Collaborate with the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance stakeholders on application requirements

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with a New York State client required
  • 72 months of experience with J2EE technologies including JDBC, JSP, and XML
  • 60 months of experience developing, building, and testing Java EE applications using modern IDEs (Eclipse, NetBeans, or IntelliJ)
  • 72 months of experience writing SQL statements for relational databases
  • 60 months of experience using J2EE frameworks such as Spring or Struts
  • 36 months of experience with messaging technologies such as MQ, JMS, or Kafka
  • 36 months of experience developing with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • 12 months of experience with a commercial or open source Business Rules Management System (BRMS)
