Click [**here**](https://agrilife.tamu.edu/) to learn more about how ***you*** can be a part of AgriLife and make a difference in the world! **Responsibilities:** -Conducts research activities on insect biology in arthropod systems in contained a laboratory environment. -Design and perform genetic, proteomic, transcriptomic, imaging, biochemical and/or physiological experiments to elucidate factors critical for important insect traits (digestion, feeding, development, reproduction, DNA repair, etc..) based on candidate expertise and interest. -Collection of data and keeping of detailed records of results, as well as utilizing computer programs and databases to conduct analyses. -Evaluate data, drafts figures, prepare research manuscripts and present findings at conferences. -Train/supervise research support staff. -Other duties as required. **Required Qualifications:** -Ph.D. in Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Entomology or closely related field. **Preferred Qualifications:** -Research experience/training in molecular biology techniques -Preferred experience in insect physiology/biochemistry/genetics. **Required Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities**: -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Perform various molecular biology and genetic techniques; able to analyze data and write reports; computer literate to include ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks as directed by the supervisor; and detailed oriented. -Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. **Please attach to your completed application:** -Cover Letter - please articulate how your past experience is relevant to the goals of this position, as well as how this position fits into your overall career goals. -Resume/CV -List of references with email and daytime phone number(s) **Why Work at Texas A&M AgriLife?** When you choose to ***work*** for Texas A&M AgriLife, you become part of an organization that is an established leader in agriculture and life sciences with a wide range of capabilities to meet the needs of our statewide, national, and international constituents.
