Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Software Engineer Full Stack / AI-First based in the United States. This is a unique opportunity for a highly experienced software engineer to work at the forefront of AI-enabled software development while maintaining a strong foundation in traditional engineering excellence. The role focuses on designing and delivering scalable, enterprise-grade systems across frontend, backend, cloud, and infrastructure layers. You will drive architectural decisions, define technical specifications, and leverage AI tools to accelerate development without compromising quality or reliability. Working in a collaborative and high-performing environment, you will help shape engineering practices, mentor teams, and influence how AI is integrated into modern software delivery. This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy system-level thinking, technical leadership, and building innovative solutions with significant organizational impact. ### Accountabilities: As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and evolution of full-stack applications while championing AI-assisted engineering practices and architectural excellence. Key responsibilities include: - Designing end-to-end architectures spanning web, mobile, backend services, databases, and cloud infrastructure. - Creating detailed technical specifications that clearly define requirements, dependencies, constraints, and edge cases. - Breaking down complex initiatives into scalable, dependency-driven implementation plans. - Developing and maintaining reusable frameworks, components, APIs, and enterprise services. - Contributing hands-on to critical implementations and providing technical oversight on complex initiatives. - Designing highly scalable, secure, and resilient distributed systems and microservices architectures. - Leveraging AI development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining full ownership of engineering quality and outcomes. - Conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to engineering standards, best practices, and production-readiness requirements. - Driving testing strategies, observability initiatives, performance optimization, and system reliability improvements. - Identifying architectural risks and resolving technical gaps before production deployment. - Leading technical initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across systems and projects. - Mentoring engineers, promoting engineering excellence, and acting as a force multiplier across teams. - Evaluating and introducing new technologies, patterns, and practices that enhance development efficiency and scalability. ## Requirements: The ideal candidate combines deep software engineering expertise with strong architectural vision and an interest in AI-enhanced development workflows. Preferred qualifications include: - Minimum of 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience with principal-level technical depth. - Proven experience building and operating production systems using technologies such as Java, C#, Dart, JavaScript, or similar languages. - Strong full-stack expertise across frontend, backend, databases, APIs, and cloud infrastructure. - Demonstrated ability to design, build, and scale distributed enterprise applications and microservices architectures. - Strong systems-thinking mindset with the ability to understand and architect complete application ecosystems. - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or equivalent environments. - Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, modern software delivery practices, and production deployment strategies. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience diagnosing and resolving complex production issues. - Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Flutter, or similar technologies. - Ability to communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Proven experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives across teams. - Familiarity with AI-powered development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar solutions. - Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-output environments while maintaining exceptional engineering standards. - Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements. ## Benefits: - Competitive annual base salary ranging from $185,000 to $193,000, plus monthly bonus potential. - Fully remote work opportunity within the United States. - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage. - Prescription drug benefits. - Pet insurance coverage. - 401(k) retirement savings plan. - Paid time off and eight paid holidays annually. - Parental leave benefits. - Employee wellness program and wellbeing initiatives. - Collaborative, high-performing, and intellectually stimulating team environment. - Career advancement opportunities and internal mobility programs. - Exposure to cutting-edge AI development practices and large-scale enterprise engineering initiatives. How Jobgether works: We use an AI-powered matching process to ensure your application is reviewed quickly, objectively, and fairly against the role's core requirements. Our system identifies the top-fitting candidates, and this shortlist is then shared directly with the hiring company. The final decision and next steps (interviews, assessments) are managed by their internal team. We appreciate your interest and wish you the best!
