Job Description

- **Temporary Full Time up to 22 May 2028** - **Primary Work Location: Menangle** - **Professional Officer Grade 1-4 - $75,728 to $145,442 commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience as outlined in the Crown Employees (Department of Regional NSW) Professional Officers Award and the Professional Officer Progression Criteria (1-4)** **About the Role** We are seeking a skilled Molecular Diagnostics Scientist to help advance biosecurity surveillance and diagnostic capability through the application of cutting-edge molecular technologies. In this role, you will investigate and implement environmental DNA (eDNA), molecular diagnostics and high-throughput sequencing (HTS) approaches to improve the detection and identification of pest and disease threats across aquatic, animal and plant biosecurity systems. Working at the intersection of research, diagnostics and surveillance, you will provide scientific leadership and oversight of existing molecular workflows while contributing to the development, validation and continuous improvement of innovative diagnostic methods.
