Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance optimization models for complex scheduling, routing, and network planning challenges
• Support United Airlines' Network Planning Schedule Design Optimizer initiative
• Build large-scale optimization models using LP, MIP/MILP, and nonlinear optimization
• Work hands-on with commercial optimization solvers to solve airline network and scheduling problems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
• 4+ years of experience in applied Operations Research, including Decision Analysis, Mathematical Optimization, Simulation, Statistics, and Stochastic Modeling
• Strong experience developing large-scale optimization models using Linear Programming (LP), Mixed Integer Programming (MIP/MILP), Nonlinear Optimization, and Mathematical Programming
• Hands-on experience with commercial optimization solvers such as IBM ILOG CPLEX (preferred), Gurobi, LINDO, or FICO Xpress
• Strong programming experience with Python, C, or Julia
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments with Shell Scripting
• Preferred: experience in Airline, Aviation, Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain domain
• Preferred: experience with Network Planning, Scheduling, Routing, or Resource Allocation optimization
• Preferred: knowledge of Java and/or JavaScript
