Job Description

A major public-sector-aligned enterprise IT project in Toronto is hiring two Senior Software Developers on a long-term contract. The role involves leading end-to-end enterprise IT solution design, integrating multi-tier system components, and providing technical leadership across a Java/JEE-based application landscape. Ideal for a seasoned developer who enjoys mentoring teams and working within structured, standards-driven public sector IT environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end enterprise IT solution design and system component integration
  • Collaborate on solution architecture and technical documentation at architecture checkpoints
  • Provide technical leadership, conduct code walkthroughs, and mentor team members
  • Debug, refactor, and optimize complex multi-tier application systems

Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT systems development experience in multi-platform, multi-tier environments
  • Deep expertise in Java/JEE stack (JSP/Servlet, EJB, JNDI, JDBC, JMS, XML, JSON)
  • Strong hands-on experience with WebSphere, WebLogic, or Tomcat
  • Solid background in Oracle RDBMS and complex PL/SQL development
  • Proven experience building and integrating RESTful and SOAP-based Web Services
  • Prior experience leading technical teams and guiding solution architecture
  • Familiarity with public sector/government IT standards is a strong asset
