Credence has an immediate need for a Radar/Electronic Warfare Engineer who will be primarily responsible for supporting the B-52 Stratofortress Division (AFLCMC WBD) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.
The B-52 Stratofortress division protects our nation by modernizing and sustaining the B-52 fleet and ensuring continued AF power projection. With a 60-year history as the backbone of the nation’s nuclear deterrence operations, the current fleet of 76 B-52H aircraft is capable of deploying the widest array of weapons in the U.S. inventory and supports multiple combatant command operations. This division provides world-class expertise and technical services, ensuring the operational safety, suitability, and effectiveness of war-winning capabilities. It also maintains the airworthiness of the B-52 Stratofortress throughout its projected service life, which extends to 2050.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below
- Serve as a radar engineer with particular emphasis in integration of radar and Electronic Warfare (EW) sensors.
- Communicate with other engineering functionals including, but not limited to structures, crew systems, EMI, reliability and maintainability, manufacturing, and system safety.
- Perform analysis, requirement analyses, and system capacity analysis, investigate alternative solutions and architecture trade-offs, make assessments, support operations concept development, and document results.
- Assist in reviewing and/or developing draft systems engineering documents in support of milestone reviews and events.
- Participate in regular team meetings, TIMs, technical reviews, and interface control working group meetings.
- Support the establishment of entrance and exit criteria, developing agendas, reviewing content, resolving action items, and coordinating the technical review of the results.
- Support hardware/software development and related system ground and flight test activities such as but not limited to: hardware in-the-loop, subsystem integration labs, DT, and IOT&E related activities.
- Support airworthiness directives and assist in platform approval and certification.
- Utilize MIL-HDBK-516 Airworthiness Certification Criteria to determine applicable requirements, work with base engineering to verify assigned systems and subsystems meet established criteria and work with other agencies as required, to achieve a desired level of certification.
- Expected activities include, but not limited to: providing technical advice and serving as the technical interface between the Government customers and the radar manufacturers, interacting with customers, participating in meetings, and producing technical detailed products.
- Perform technical activities associated with radar waveforms and signal and data processing techniques that provide robust performance in EMI, electronic counter-measure, multipath, ducting, and clutter environments. These activities may include, but not limited to: phased array and active aperture antennas, adaptive array processing, digital beam forming, klystron and solid state transmitter technologies, receiver and transmitters stability issues, advanced analog-to-digital (A/D) technology, EMI, and EW. Digital signal processing including Moving Target Indication (MTI), pulse Doppler, monopulse, imaging, and adaptive techniques, Clutter Map Constant False Alarm Rates, clutter maps, and timing issues.
- Assist in accomplishing data processing including centroiding, tracker, timing issues, data loading issues, software; interfaces to combat system and/or automation systems including required data, quantity of data, data merging and integration.
- Assist in accomplishing modeling/simulation of radar, targets, and clutter/weather; testing and evaluation of radar system performance including developing test plans and procedures, witnessing tests, and writing test reports for qualification testing, operational field testing, and factory system-level testing.
- Clearance: Top Secret
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree from an ABET accredited college or university in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD or
- Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited college or university in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD
- Knowledge of radar theory and principles, and an understanding of the radar design, development, and implementation process is required
