## Overview

The Resident Engineer (O&M) will be responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance activities of metro rail systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of all assets. The role involves managing contractors, supervising maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and coordinating with stakeholders.
## Your role
##
Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day metro operations to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Monitor system performance (trains, track, signaling, telecom, power supply, etc.).
- Ensure adherence to operational schedules and service standards.
- Analyze operational data and implement improvements to optimize performance.
Maintenance Management
- Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities across civil, E&M, and systems.
- Ensure timely inspection, repair, and maintenance of metro infrastructure and rolling stock.
- Review maintenance plans, schedules, and reports from contractors/vendors.
- Ensure proper documentation and asset lifecycle management.
Contractor & Vendor Management
- Supervise O&M contractors and service providers.
- Review contractor performance against KPIs/SLAs.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, safety, and quality standards.
- Conduct periodic meetings and audits.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with railway/metro safety standards and statutory regulations.
- Implement safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Promote a strong safety culture across teams.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure maintenance activities meet quality and technical standards.
- Conduct inspections and audits of systems and works.
- Verify adherence to ISO/Quality Management Systems where applicable.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with clients, government authorities, contractors, and internal teams.
- Support audits and reporting requirements for regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for issue resolution.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, incidents, inspections, and performance.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly O&M reports.
- Track KPIs and recommend improvements.
## About you
##
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Civil / Electronics / Railway Engineering).
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Experience
- 15+ years of experience in transport, metro/railway projects.
- Minimum 5+ years in Operations & Maintenance of metro/rail systems.
- Experience working as Resident Engineer / O&M Lead / Maintenance Manager preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Metro systems (track, rolling stock, signaling, telecom, traction power)
- Maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive, corrective)
- Asset management systems
- Familiarity with international standards (IEC, EN, railway safety standards).
- Experience with CMMS/maintenance software tools.
