Senior ACCOUNTANT – Surety and Corporate Insurance (USA)
The Senior Accountant is an integral member of the Finance team providing key financial reporting and analysis. The successful candidate will be hands-on in developing processes to meet the rapid growth and development of Trisura’s US-based business within our multi-entity insurance structure. This is a high growth role with the ability to make an immediate impact on processes, learn complex structures, see multiple facets of the business and grow your career. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and compliance of intercompany transactions, including reinsurance, shared services, cost allocations, and treasury activities.
Other specific responsibilities will include, as follows:
Prepare monthly financial reports on an IFRS and US STAT basis.
Complete monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting, coordinating with parent Trisura Group.
Perform reconciliations between the GL and subledgers, including confirmation and settlement of intercompany balances.
Assist in annual budgeting process.
Identify, research and resolve reconciliation differences.
Collaborate with the finance team, as well as other departments, to support overall corporate goals and objectives.
Identify, propose, and implement process improvements.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s accounting systems other systems as required; and participate in the development and implementation of new system processes and workflows to ensure a high level of accuracy with respect to financial reporting.
Assist with external and internal audits, including coordination with auditors and preparation of supporting documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
5 + years’ experience in the financial reporting area, ideally in a financial services environment.
Technical acumen and accounting expertise, ideally a CPA with Big Four or top-tier public accounting/audit background.
Broad experience and responsibility for public company's external reporting and accounting.
Strong organizational and planning skills, with demonstrated project management skills and proven track record of meeting strict deadlines while staying within budget constraints.
Skilled in Microsoft Suite; proficient in complex accounting systems.
Familiarity with insurance accounting and intercompany accounting is preferred.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
CPA Certification is preferred
Advanced knowledge of professional accounting software.

The salary range is expected to be $75,000 to $95,000 plus bonus within the terms of the company plan. Trisura offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401(k) with company match and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
