We're looking for engineers who take ownership, think beyond tickets, and want to see their work matter at scale. **Role Overview:** As a Senior Backend Engineer in the Anti-scam 2B team, you will be the primary technical driver across two product lines: - Brand Protection & Threat Detection Platform: Delivering real-time scam monitoring, alerting, and risk intelligence capabilities to enterprise clients - Scam Intelligence API Platform: Enabling enterprise partners and OEM clients to embed Gogolook's detection capabilities into their own products at scale This is not a maintenance role. You'll co-own architecture decisions, lead feature delivery end-to-end, and work directly with Product and cross-functional partners to shape how enterprise clients interact with Gogolook's fraud prevention ecosystem. **What you'll work on:** In the next 6 months, you'll be tackling: scaling crawling and data extraction pipelines to support new detection scenarios, redesigning high-throughput API services for greater scalability, and exploring innovative applications of AI/LLM technologies — including agent-based architectures — within our risk detection workflows to improve overall detection effectiveness. ### Responsibilities - Own the backend design, development, and maintenance of enterprise solution products, ensuring system reliability and an outstanding client experience. - Design, build, and maintain production-grade web crawling and scraping systems: including anti-detection mechanisms, scheduling, rate limiting, and data normalization pipelines: to support brand protection intelligence and fraud ad detection pipelines. - Integrate backend services, APIs, and data ETL pipelines to power real-time fraud detection, alerting, and threat analysis. - Collaborate directly with PM and design to define and build enterprise console: including workflows, dashboards, and reporting surfaces. - Drive performance optimization across services: latency, throughput, and resource efficiency. - Leverage AI coding agents: including Claude Code and OpenAI Codex: as core development tools to accelerate engineering velocity and build intelligent, AI-augmented product features. - Proactively drive technical debt reduction, architecture improvements, and cross-team knowledge sharing as a natural part of how you work. ### Minimum Qualifications - 4–8 years of backend development experience, with deep proficiency in Golang. - Strong system design and architecture skills, with demonstrated ability to build scalable, production-grade services. - Proven experience building and maintaining production web crawlers or scraping systems, including handling anti-bot countermeasures, dynamic page rendering (e.g., headless browsers), and large-scale URL processing pipelines. - Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases; ability to design and optimize schemas for performance. - Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services. - Hands-on experience using AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) as part of daily development workflow - Practical experience integrating or building features with LLMs. - Strong ownership mindset — you raise issues proactively, drive solutions to completion, and communicate blockers clearly. - Effective collaborator in cross-functional, hybrid environments. - Proficient with Git and modern code review workflows. ### Preferred qualifications - Frontend experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) — particularly for enterprise console surfaces. - Demonstrated expertise in AWS architecture, including serverless, container-based, or event-driven patterns. - Prior tech lead or mentorship experience.
