The Senior Backend Software Engineer will focus on the design and development of web applications. The SSE will be working closely with the project manager, technical manager, and other software engineers to develop high-quality products. The SSE will also be interacting with other departments for production support. Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop and implement quality web applications - Participate in the design, architecture, and performance optimization of web applications - Join calls with customers and partners as needed - Resolve bugs, refactor, and optimize code - Create and maintain technical documentation - Provide application-level production support - Help the web development team in establishing best practices and coding guidelines. - Mentor other engineers - Improve code quality by participating in peer code reviews - Work with the IT Director and Technical Manager in establishing a team process map or workflow - Research and development of new technologies to advance and better the quality of product and other deliverables - Adhere to Company processes and procedures to enable smooth flow of product development lifecycle and operations management - Provide feedback to the company whenever necessary Qualifications: - Candidate must possess at least a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or - related discipline - More than five (5+) years of experience in web applications development - Experience in designing and developing high availability and scalable web applications - Strong understanding of software development practices and concepts - Object-Oriented Programming - Design Patterns - Object-Relational Mapping - Multi-threading - Multi-tenancy - Data Structures - Algorithms - Data Security - Relational Database Management System - Understanding of REST and SOAP - Experience with front-end development - Experience with code versioning tools, preferably Git - Familiarity with Microservices architecture - Familiarity with Agile practices - Experience with unit testing - Good communication skills - Ability to work in multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment - Open to learning new technologies Nice to have:  - Experience with Ruby on Rails or Golang - Experience with Redis - Experience with PostgreSQL - Experience with Docker - Experience with AWS - Experience with CI/CD - Experience with front-end frameworks (React or Angular) - Familiarity with B2B Integrations (AS2, EDIFACT, etc.) - Familiarity with DevOps - Familiarity with Serverless (FaaS) - Familiarity with API Middleware, Service Discovery, and Advanced Message - Queuing Protocol (AMQP) - Familiarity with Networking concepts (TCP/IP, OSI Model) - Leadership experience - Has a working laptop/desktop and high-speed internet connection.
