Job Description

That’s where you come in. If you believe in these things too, you’re our kind of person! We are currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist located in the Washington, D.C. area. What you’ll do: The Senior Data Scientist will provide data analytics support to a U.S. Navy program office. Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. - Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets. - Visualize, interpret, and report data findings by creating dynamic data reports. - Plan internal and external engagements, including meetings, conferences, and events. - Assist in the development of briefing material and drafting documents in accordance with Navy Correspondence Manual guidelines. - Coordinate, monitor, and execute data calls to gather inputs from both internal and external stakeholders. Consolidate and communicate information from data calls to government leadership for further action. - Evaluate operational deficiencies, recommend improvements, and coordinate their implementation - Transcribe and summarize meeting minutes and notes and assist in the preparation and closure of action items - Assist in the scheduling of appointments in support of Government customer, the coordination of arrangements for meetings and conferences, and the arrangement of travel reservations and accommodations - Attend meetings and program reviews, assist with compiling presentations, written materials, and/or electronic communications as required - Travel domestically and internationally, provide in-person support at MBC and client sites, and obtain and maintain professional certifications and security clearances as required by MBC and/or MBC’s clients. These requirements are subject to change without advance notice at the discretion of MBC and MBC’s clients Qualifications: - At least 10 years of experience providing data analytics support to U.S. Navy program offices - Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint - Eligibility to obtain a DOD SECRET security clearance - Bachelor’s degree in math, science, engineering, or related field from an institution accredited in the United States - Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask - Strong verbal and written interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills - Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally using a credit card or prepaid debit card as required by MBC and/or clients What MBC offers: - Competitive salaries - Comprehensive medical plans (Aetna) with Employee Assistance Program (EAP), heath savings and flexible spending accounts, and dental and vision coverage options - Opportunity to earn spot awards and annual, performance, and chargeability bonuses - Traditional and Roth 401(K) plans - Professional development including up to $1,500/year reimbursement for pre-approved courses, trainings, continued education, and/or certifications - Paid Flexible Time Off - 10 paid holidays Equal Employment Opportunity Statement MBC is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer. Factors include the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's qualifications, and the contractual terms of the program.
