As a Senior DevOps Engineer II, you will shape how infrastructure is built, secured, and operated across the Mondia platform. You will own the delivery experience for engineering teams - making pipelines, deployments, and environments faster, safer, and more autonomous. You will drive the designof shared cloud infrastructure, observability strategy, and disaster recovery alongside a distributed infrastructure team spanning Hamburg, Dubai, and Cairo. In this role, you combine deep technical expertise with informal leadership to raise the standard of operational excellence across the group. Roles and Responsibilities - Architect and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, designing multi-account network topologies, service deployments, and disaster recovery strategies - Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines across multiple product lines, with a focus on reliability, speed, and maintainability - Own and evolve Infrastructure as Code (OpenTofu/Terraform, AWS CDK/TypeScript), maintaining reusable module libraries and managing remote state - Define and refine deployment standards including environment promotion, rollback strategies, blue/green and canary releases - Build and maintain container platforms (Docker, AWS ECS) with a focus on image security and runtime hardening - Own the observability platform (New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana) — design alerting strategies, define SLOs, and lead incident response - Design and implement disaster recovery strategies; own RTO/RPO targets and ensure recovery readiness across critical services - Implement and enforce security best practices including AWS security tooling, secrets management, and IAM policy design - Collaborate with development teams to shorten feedback loops and make deployments more predictable and repeatable - Participate in on-call rotation and ensure 99.9% platform availability Behavioral Skills • Proven leadership skills with experience guiding and mentoring engineers • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, distributed environment • Strong automation mindset and problem-solving skills with the ability to follow through to completion • Clear communicator who translates technical risk into business language Technical Competencies/Skills • Strong AWS experience (ECS, Aurora, CloudFront, FIS, Cost Optimisation) • Infrastructure as Code expertise (OpenTofu/Terraform, AWS CDK/TypeScript) • Advanced GitLab CI/CD - multi-project pipelines, runners, artifacts at scale • Docker, container security, and container orchestration (ECS/Kubernetes) • Production-grade scripting (Python, Shell) • Observability platform ownership (New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana) • Advanced AWS networking (Transit Gateway, VPN, FortiGate) • AWS security tooling (GuardDuty, Security Hub, Config) and secrets management • Linux performance tuning and hardening • AI-assisted development — integrates AI tooling into daily workflows • Disaster recovery design and implementation Nice to have: • Ansible for configuration management • Kubernetes (in addition to ECS) • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional) • Security certifications (CISSP, OSCP) Education: University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience Experience: 7+ years in DevOps/SRE/Infrastructure roles, with at least 2 years at a senior level Licenses and certifications: AWS certifications are highly desired; security certifications (CISSP, OSCP) are a plus Physical demand and working conditions: Professional office environment - hybrid model, Cairo office; participation in on-call rotation - Social insurance - Health insurance for employee and family - The company will contribute up to EUR 25 per month towards staff perks - Benefit from our performance-based bonus scheme, in line with company policy. - EUR equivalent salaries paid in EGP
