Role OverviewThe Senior Financial Accountant is a key technical and review-focused role within the Controllership & Finance Operations pillar, responsible for overseeing complex accounting areas, reviewing junior accountants’ work, ensuring IFRS compliance, supporting audits, and driving process quality across the pod. The role requires deep expertise in IFRS 15 and IFRS 16, strong analytical capability, and the ability to guide and mentor team members. Core Accounting & Reporting Responsibilities - Review PO, generate Invoices and provide guidance to accountants for reconciliation and vendor dispute resolution. - Review revenue recognition under IFRS 15 for complex contracts, including: - Standalone selling price (SSP) allocation - Multi-element arrangements - Variable consideration - Renewals and contract modifications - Review IFRS 16 lease accounting schedules: - ROU assets and lease liability calculations - Amortization and interest schedules - Impairment indicators and remeasurement considerations - Prepare consolidated reporting packs including: - Trending dashboards - KPI reporting packs - Renewal and pipeline reporting - Forecasting inputs for leadership Financial Analysis & Insights - Perform deep-dive analyses on key areas such as: - Margin erosion and cost variances - Project overruns and budget-to-actual deviations - Customer churn patterns and operational KPIs - Cost anomalies and unusual fluctuations across business units Audit & Compliance - Coordinate external and internal audits end-to-end, including: - Planning and sampling - Evidence preparation and delivery - Managing auditor queries - Ensuring remediation actions are completed - Preparing management responses for audit findings Team Leadership & Collaboration - Mentor and guide junior accountants in: - Reconciliations - Excel automation and efficiency - Provide technical accounting coaching to elevate team capability. - Promote process consistency, documentation standards, and control improvements. Qualifications & Experience Requirements - ACCA or ICMA qualified - 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience - Strong technical knowledge of IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 - Demonstrated experience reviewing work of junior team members - Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment Success Profile for This RoleA successful Senior Financial Accountant will: - Demonstrate deep technical accounting expertise and become the SME for complex revenue and lease accounting. - Elevate quality across the pod through strong reviews, structured feedback, and rigorous documentation. - Communicate clearly with accountants, auditors, and leadership, ensuring transparency and accuracy. - Identify gaps in controls and processes and proactively recommend improvements. - Deliver high-quality analyses that highlight risks, opportunities, and operational insights. - Manage competing priorities during close cycles while maintaining accuracy.
