As a Senior Specialized Hardware Developer on the Google Android XR Hardware team, you will be designing, implementing, and delivering Next Generation hardware systems and AR glasses. You will drive hardware solutions from concepts through prototyping and production, ensuring robust designs that meet performance, efficiency, reliability and ability to scale. Your work will directly impact how users perceive the power of Android XR and apps/services including Gemini. Responsibilities Gather system requirements from product management and cross functional teams, define architecture, and execute hardware design for next generation AR glasses. Execute hardware system development from initial concepts through schematics/PCB layout, bring up, debug and support high-volume production. Travel as needed to support bring-up at factories in Taiwan, China and potential others. Apply best practices to optimize or constrain hardware components to meet performance, power, and cost-effectiveness requirements. Predict consequences of hardware design decisions in cross-functional trade-off discussions, supported by simulation or measurement data, as needed. Collaborate cross-functionally with Hardware, Firmware, Software, Power, Mechanical, Thermal, Validation, Signal Integrity, Manufacturing, and external vendors to ensure system integration meeting quality and schedule. Drive efforts for the documentation of the hardware design, its implementation, or test/validation results throughout the product life-cycle.
