Job Description
The role of a Senior iOS Engineer is pivotal in supporting the delivery of our Strategy by driving innovation and ensuring the development of high-quality software solutions. By leveraging advanced technical skills and a
deep understanding of software engineering principles, the Senior Engineer contributes to the creation of robust, scalable, and efficient applications that align with our strategic goals. This role involves not only writing and reviewing code but also architecting solutions that meet both current and future business
needs, ensuring Software Solutions supports the overall Domain vision.
This role sits within the RTA (https://www.realtimeagent.com.au/) Core Squad that is responsible for building and operating the core platform of the RTA product which supports Agents to provide a digital contracts experience to their vendors and purchasers. As a senior mobile app engineer you will focus on all aspects of the solution design and implementation of RTA’s iOS app. There is also scope to work in a full-stack capacity for the right candidate.
What you’ll do
- Build high quality scalable, reliable and performant solutions in collaboration with other engineers and tech leads.
- Keep abreast of latest trends in technology and software engineering. Use responsible engineering principles to understand when and how to apply those same trends.
- Champion and adopt Engineering best practices.
- Participate in and contribute to cross-domain technology forums such as Architecture Guild and Tech Leadership Guild.
- Contribute to the System Health and Tech debt backlog for their respectively owned service.
- Champion engineering efficiency for their respective team and services.
- Collaborate with Lead Engineers and Tech Leads on improving process and system change.
- Build a deep understanding of their product and business domain.
- Demonstrates a collaborative, 'build-and-operate' mindset, taking end-to-end ownership for service quality.
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Essential:
- At least 5+ years of hands-on commercial experience in software or data engineering.
- Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering related field
- Experience with mobile app development (iOS) using Swift
- Knowledge of mobile app best practice
- Highly regarded experience:
- SwiftUI/UIKit
- Swift Package Manager
- Experience using RESTful APIs and GraphQL
- AWS CDK / DevOps
- Firebase
- RealmSwift
Nice to have
- Experience designing software solutions for scale
- Experience working with Tech leads to optimise engineering practices and processes
- Experience implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Experience working in cross functional teams (Product, Design and Tech)
