# Senior Java Developer Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands Work Model: Hybrid (1 day onsite per week) Contract Duration: 6 Months Start Date: August 2026 Experience Required: 10+ Years ## About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications in a modern microservices environment. The ideal candidate has strong backend development expertise, experience with cloud-based CI/CD practices, and a passion for delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions within Agile teams. ## Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based enterprise applications. - Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot. - Develop clean, maintainable, and scalable code following best practices. - Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using JUnit and Karate/Cucumber. - Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver high-quality software. - Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards. - Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines. - Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance. - Contribute to continuous improvement and adoption of modern development practices. ## Required Skills & Experience ### Core Technologies - 10+ years of Java software development experience. - Strong experience with: - Java 8 and Java 11 - Spring Boot - Spring Framework - Spring Batch - Spring Security - JAX-RS - Kotlin - Strong understanding of Microservices architecture. - Experience developing REST APIs and working with HTTP and JSON. ### Testing - Experience writing: - Unit Tests using JUnit - Integration Tests - API testing using Karate or Cucumber Framework ### DevOps & CI/CD - Hands-on experience with: - Azure DevOps - Git - Maven - Jenkins - Ansible - Artifactory - Experience with: - Azure repositories - Code reviews - Application deployment - CI/CD pipelines ### Databases & Infrastructure - Experience with NoSQL databases, preferably Cassandra. - Good knowledge of Linux environments. ## Preferred Experience - Banking or Payments domain experience. - Passion for Open Source technologies. - Experience working in large enterprise environments. ## Soft Skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent project and time management skills. - Proactive, collaborative, and team-oriented mindset. - Ability to work independently when required. - Passion for learning and adopting new technologies. - Strong communication and knowledge-sharing skills. ## Working Environment - Agile development environment. - Hybrid working model with one day per week in the Amsterdam office.
